V&T Railway

The V&T Railway runs between Virginia City and Carson City, Nevada. My lovely wife Kathleen and I rode on the train just after it started its maiden trip between the two historic Nevada cities.

"The Virginia and Truckee Railroad (reporting mark VT) was built to serve the Comstock Lode mining communities of northwestern Nevada," according to Wikipedia. "At its height, the railroad's route ran from Reno south to Carson City, Nevada."

The good news is that you can ride the train from Virginia City to Gold Hill and back or from Carson City to Virginia City and back.

One of my wife's relatives worked on the original railway, which has an extensive history.
