I've added the Sutro Tunnel and grounds photos that were taken on a family visit.

Sutro Tunnel is a Comstock Lode icon, even though it really never made financial sense, except for the people who earned money from selling investments in it.

But, that's the story of the Comstock: More money, some say, was made in San Francisco selling stock in Comstock mines and projects than in mining silver and gold.

These photos are part of my photojournalism via smartphone. They are not professionally taken or edited. You may download and edit them as you desire. They may not be used commercially. Please note that the Sutro site does not have public access. It is private property and you must sign up for a tour (modest cost) to visit.
