"The first Farmers automobile policy was sold in Santa Ana, Calif., on April 9, 1928, to Charles and Joy Brisco," according to a summary display next to this 1926 Cadillac Phaeton that was photographed at the 2010 Palo Alto Concours d'Elegance.
"The policy covered a 1925 Cadillac Phaeton, which Mr. Brisco had purchased for just under $1,450 secondhand.
"The beautifully restored 8-cylinder 1925 Cadillac Phaeton on display here has the first Brunn custom-built body of any Cadillac.
"It was a showpiece of the 1925 New York Auto Salon, one of the most prestigious events of its kind. It is part of the Farmers Heritage Center's permanent collection."
