Empire Ranch Trail Scenery Is Beautiful

The scenery along Empire Ranch Trail can be quite spectacular. One the west side is a golf course and on the east is the Carson River and mostly wildlands.
When I walked along the trail in April, the flooding (minor) Carson River had filled some of the channels that veer off from the main channel, as well as some backwaters that were either designed for flood control or occur naturally. I'm not sure.

There wasn't a lot of birding opportunities on some of the days in terms of raptors; however, if you you like red-winged blackbirds and yellow-headed blackbirds (whose songs/calls can be quite hilarious), there were choruses of them.
