Ford Motor Co. promoted the 1969 Mach 1 Mustang with gusto!
It called the car “a wild new Mustang.”
Well, one of these wild child's was at the 2022 Downtown Revival Car Show in Carson City.
Ford was as enthusiastic about the Mach 1 as when I saw this beauty at the car show, hosted by Esther Chapter #3, Order of the Eastern Star. I'm usually a 1967 hard-top Mustang guy, but this Mach 1 was stunning. My smartphone photos do not do the beautiful paint job justice.

“Drive the igniting, power-primed Mach 1,” states the Mustang’s brochure. “Life will never be the same. You can choose from five hot V-8s ~ from two new 351s (one with a two-barrel carb, the other with a four-barrel carb), to the virile 428 4V Cobra Jet Ram-Air with hood air scoops. (Simulated scoop with others.)
“And {the} Mach 1 comes with all kinds of GT-type equipment like dual exhausts with the four larger engines; wide-oval belted sidewall tires on steel wheels; competition shocks, springs and stabilizer bar; foam-padded, vinyl-trimmed high black buckets; racing mirrors left and right; {and} wood-like 3-spoke Rim-Blow steering wheel.”
The sixth-annual Downtown Revival Car Show will be held in Carson City on Saturday, July 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
