Carson River FloodsIn mid-April, the Carson River was at flood stage and a bit over in some areas at Riverview Park, due to snow melt in the Sierra Nevada.
When I was driving on Deer Run Road the other day, I noticed the Carson River was bank-to-bank high in some places and even overflowing in the low part of Riverview Park.
In March and April, I visited the park. By April, it was largely accessible, despite some parts of trails being washed out.

In other places, there was minor flooding.
Still, in others, there was standing water and a lot of mud. If you plan on walking in the park and the muddy areas, I suggest brining a walking stick, or you may end up on your backside or worse.
