A photo taken along the Carson River Trail by Glenn Franco Simmons.Carson River TrailThe Carson River Trail to Mexican Dam is a popular trail for bike riders, horse riders, joggers and walkers. This photo was taken in February 2023, when the trail was extremely hazardous to even walk on.

The first day I walked on it, I made it to Mexican Dam, but it was hazardous. The next day, I took the trail again, and some ice had melted but the mud was just as bad. This time, I had a strong walking stick that could support my size of 6 foot, 4 inches and 230 pounds. Make sure you have a walking stick if you intend to take this trail when it is muddy and or icy.
