If you travel this road, as any road anywhere, be prepared for potential adverse weather, which can occur in any month of the year, from near blackouts in some areas due to dust or snow to violent thunderstorms, and muddy and//or snow-covered, damaged roads. I made this mostly rocky-road route in my 2011 Prius, but next time I will take our Rav4 because there are some bumpy areas. When not muddy and/or snow-covered, this road is passable for most cars.
