Big Basin Redwood GroveThis is an iconic photo of Big Basin Redwoods State Park. This area of the park was reportedly destroyed by the 2020 Big Basin fire. It burned park headquarters to the ground. That structure was located about a five-minute walk to the left of this photo.
My Big Basin Redwoods State Park photos are iconic, partly because these photos can never be taken again because of a 2020 wildfire that virtually destroyed California's first state park. It burned park headquarters to the ground. That structure was located about a five-minute walk to the left of some of the photos I took and about a two-minute walk for the single redwood photo (added today) that I took. Big Basin was California's first state park.
